“Resurrection Sunday Quake”

On March 18th, 2010, Prepare the Way sent out an edition of The Messenger prophetic bulletin entitled, “2010 ~ A Year of Shaking”.  This bulletin was in essence an urgent call to repentance and intercession for Los Angeles, California, regarding the imminent divine judgment on Hollywood for projecting evil throughout the world over the past century—thus becoming a stumbling block for the nations (Romans 14:13).

Less than 3 weeks later, on April 4th, Resurrection Sunday, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit near an uninhabited area in Mexicali, Mexico around 3:40 PM.  This high magnitude quake shook buildings and towers in the area and swayed buildings as far as San Diego, Yuma, and Los Angeles.  The USGS United States Geological Survey considers the quake one of the most powerful ones in the area in recent times, measuring a depth of 10 kilometers.

I believe that it is significant that the quake occurred on Easter Sunday.  The Lord in His mercy is letting us know that the quake was not random and that He is intimately involved in the affairs of man.  This quake was a divine warning and wake-up call to the Church.  I also believe that if we heed that Lord’s warning through this quake and truly repent for the sins of our nation, especially Los Angeles, we will experience His resurrection power necessary to transform America.  However, if we refuse to repent as a nation, subsequent judgments will follow.  If we ever needed to respond to II Chronicles 7:14, it is now, America.

II Chronicles 7:14  “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
